Rect Rush
A timed Shikaku-style rectangle puzzle: one number per rectangle, every cell covered.
A timed Shikaku alternative
Patches is LinkedIn's daily spatial logic puzzle: you fill the grid with shapes, one clue per shape. Rect Rush is a timed Shikaku game: each rectangle holds one number and covers exactly that many cells. Play free in your browser or in the Arcadity Android app.

Both puzzles ask you to cover the whole grid with non-overlapping shapes, one clue per shape, with every cell used exactly once. A Patches clue can show a size, a shape icon (square, tall, wide or free-form), or both. Rect Rush uses number-only clues, so every deduction comes from areas, board edges and neighboring rectangles.
| Feature | LinkedIn Patches | Rect Rush |
|---|---|---|
| Clues | A size, a shape icon, or both | A number equal to each rectangle's area |
| Pace | One new puzzle each day | Timed rounds of 3 to 4 minutes across several boards |
Choose 2P, 4P or 8P in the lobby and you get matched into a battle. Both players in a round get the same boards, rules and time limit, play their own attempts, and the higher score wins; 4P and 8P battles are knockout brackets of two-player rounds. Play is asynchronous, and your results count toward the Rect Rush leaderboard.

Shikaku is a Japanese logic puzzle popularized by Nikoli. You divide the grid into rectangles; each rectangle contains exactly one number, and that number equals its area.
