Does making 2048 end the game?
No. It awards the merge score plus a 2,048-point bonus, and you can keep merging while time and legal moves remain.
Arcadity game
Play 2048 online on a 4×4 board. Slide matching numbers together, keep space for the next tile, and chase a higher score before the timer runs out.
Each merge earns the value of the tile it creates: 2 + 2 earns 4 points, and 4 + 4 earns 8. Sliding without merging earns no points.
Every new 2048 tile adds a further 2,048-point bonus. Merging 1024 + 1024 therefore earns 4,096 points: 2,048 for the merge and 2,048 for the bonus.
Time remaining does not multiply your score. Use the clock to make more productive merges while keeping the board playable.
This constructed practice position is evaluated with Arcadity's actual 2048 game rules. It is not a promised match opening; the final new tile is one fixed example.
Rows run top to bottom and columns left to right. Dark cells are empty; gold outlines mark the tiles being discussed.
The top row is 2, 2, 4, empty. Swipe left. The two 2s can merge, while the existing 4 slides into the space beside them.
Before the new tile appears, the top row becomes 4, 4, empty, empty. The move earns 4 points. It does not become 8: the newly created 4 has already merged during this swipe.
This example then adds a 2 at row 4, column 2. The two 4s remain available for a later merge. Check where each new tile appears before choosing your next swipe.
Add a friend on Arcadity, then send them a Friend Duel for 2048 Online from your friends list. It is a 2-player match with the same seed, rules and time limit for both players. Your friend must accept within 24 hours. Each of you plays one attempt whenever it suits you, and the higher score wins.
Lobby 2P/4P/8P modes match you with other players or bots, not friends. The 4-player and 8-player knockout brackets have two and three rounds respectively. Each round is a 1v1 pairing with its own seed; the two opponents share the same rules and time limit. Play is asynchronous.
Use Share Result to show off your score. It shares a result page with a link to the game; starting from that page creates a new match with a new seed. To compete with a friend under the same setup, send a Friend Duel from your friends list.

A tile can merge only once per swipe. The two 2s create a new 4, which must wait until another swipe before it can merge with the existing 4.
Only a swipe that changes the board adds a new 2 or 4. A direction that moves and merges nothing leaves the board unchanged.
No. In a 2-player Friend Duel, you both get the same seed, rules and time limit, but each of you plays your own attempt whenever convenient. Your friend must accept the invitation within 24 hours. The higher score wins.
